Leather

The quality of leather used by Tod's for footwear, bags, and clothing combines with artisanal techniques and attention to detail to create unique pieces. To achieve excellence, the leather undergoes specific treatments and finishes that enhance its distinctive features.
ACCURATE CRAFTSMANSHIP

We define natural leathers as those that do not undergo mechanical finishing, abrasions, or other alterations to the grain. They are characterised by an artisanal flair and rich texture, giving accessories an elegant and refined appearance and ensuring durability. Natural leathers such as Nappa can be used for men's and women's outerwear, imparting a soft and sophisticated look to the garments.

Suede leather, obtained from the inner side of the leather, is characterised by its unique "writing effect" and soft, velvety surface. Valued for its casual yet sophisticated appearance, it is notably used in loafers and the iconic Gommini.

Within Tod's range of leathers, natural-effect grains are employed in producing women's footwear, bags, and small leather accessories. They are named for their embossed and prominent grain, which creates a bold and distinctive "imprinted" look, emphasising the finish of the natural leather.

QUALITY MADE IN ITALY

Patent and abraded leather has a glossy finish and a transparent or deep appearance. Its distinctive satin touch and extreme uniformity give the products a modern and classy look, making them ideal accessories for special occasions.

For the most exclusive collections and special projects, Tod's uses only the finest leathers, which are available in limited quantities. Processing these leathers requires exceptional artisanal skill, ensuring the highest quality products.

Pashmy represents the pinnacle of leather selection, and its use gives life to a precious collection of footwear, bags, and clothing. The incredible softness to the touch, lightweight nature, and unmistakable silky feel evoke the delicacy of pashmina. Anti-drop and stain-resistant treatments enhance its characteristics without altering its remarkable softness.
